Visceral General Manager Steve Papoutsis Departs EA

by Mike Futter on Apr 08, 2015 at 07:06 AM

With Battlefield Hardline still only a recent release, the studio behind it is experiencing a change in management. Steve Papoutsis has departed the studio after being employed at EA for over 14 years.

Papoutsis joined the company in September, 2000 according to his LinkedIn profile. Scott Probst, who has been with the company in various development roles since 2003, is taking over the studio.

EA tells us that the change in leadership isn’t related to Battlefield Hardline and EA has reaffirmed that Visceral continues to work on content and support for Hardline. For more on the title, check out our review.

Our Take
With Battlefield Hardline out and running smoothly, this seems to be well-timed. Obviously EA didn’t announce until a transition plan was in place putting someone else atop the studio, which we know is working on a Star Wars title helmed by Amy Hennig, with Todd Stashwick also contributing to the project.
