Killing Floor 2 Gets Steam Early Access Date & Details

by Matthew Kato on Apr 08, 2015 at 04:53 AM

Developer Tripwire Interactive has announced that Killing Floor 2 will hit Steam Early Access later this month, with a hopeful full release by the end of the year.

The Early Access version (out on April 21 for $29.99) contains three levels, four perk classes, 27 weapons, 11 Zeds, seven playable characters, a boss, and level creation.

Tripwire says that the final game will contain 10 perk classes and more weapons and levels, the balancing will be tweaked, and other features are being planned as well. The studio also says that this build of the game contains no game-breaking bugs and can be played solo or co-op.

Our Take
Developer Tripwire states very sincere in its Early Access notes that this version of the game is a fully functioning version of the game, and that this period is for balancing and testing. The studio won't commit to a firm release date, but given how clearly they've explained where the game currently is, what they believe Early Access is for, and what else needs to be done, it is confident the title will not be mired in Early Access forever.
