Microsoft Delays Quantum Break To 2016

by Mike Futter on Apr 02, 2015 at 03:10 AM

It’s official. All three platform holders are playing the delay game.

Sony led the way, pushing Uncharted 4 out of 2015. Nintendo followed with The Legend of Zelda. Now Microsoft is bumping one of its marquee exclusives out of this year.

Quantum Break will now launch in 2016. Microsoft says it still has a solid lineup for the fall, consisting of Halo 5: Guardians, Rise of the Tomb Raider (likely a timed exclusive), Fable Legends, and Forza Motorsport 6.

Quantum Break was originally slated to release in 2014 before a delay pushed it into 2015. Our most recent experience with the game came at Gamescom 2014, in a hands-off presentation. You can read more on that to learn about the game.

Our Take
While this isn’t as much of a blow as the releases delayed on the other platforms, it is a hit. Remember how many times Alan Wake was delayed doesn’t make this too much of a surprise, especially with the live-action component woven into the title.
