Nintendo 64 and Nintendo DS Games Coming To Wii U Virtual Console

by Joe Juba on Apr 01, 2015 at 12:29 PM

In today's Nintendo Direct, the company revealed that the Wii U virtual console will be getting titles from the N64 and Nintendo DS library.

When playing DS games on your Wii U, you have multiple layout options. The two screens may be split across your TV screen and Wii U Gamepad in some cases. In other cases, you will just see both screens on your television, or both on the Wii U Gamepad.

For Nintendo 64 titles, you can choose from 3 pre-set control schemes, and then reconfigure specific buttons. The GamePad will also support N64 games' rumble feature.

Pricing for N64 games will range from $9.99 to $11.99, while DS games will cost between $6.99 and $9.99. Thankfully, if you've already purchased an N64 game on Wii's Virtual Console, you can transfer it to Wii U for just $2.

Yoshi's Island DS and Super Mario 64 are available right now.

Coming before the end of April are: Yoshi Touch & Go, Wario Ware Touched, Donkey Kong 64, Mario Kart DS, and Paper Mario.
