Nintendo Runs Down Indie Games Coming To Wii U In 2015
Nintendo has announced a selection of new indie titles coming to Wii U this summer.
Adventures of Pip
Adventures of Pip (header image above) is a puzzle-platformer that follows the adventures of a single pixel. As players progress they will gain the abilities that allow them to transform into new forms. Adventures of Pip is releasing in May.
Octodad: Dadliest Catch
Young Horses' Octodad: Dadliest Catch has made the rounds to almost every other platform, and it will finally be making its way to Wii U this summer. Octodad puts players in the shoes of an unwieldy octopus who is masquerading as the loving father and husband in an otherwise normal human family.
Mutant Mudds Super Challenge
A sequel to the original Mutant Mudds, Mutant Mudds Super Challenge ramps up the difficulty of the first game's 2.5D platforming while also giving players 40 new levels to fight though. Mutant Mudds features cross-buy for 3DS and Wii U, meaning players who purchase either version will get the other free. Owners of the original game will also be getting a loyalty discount for the new game when it releases in June.
Don't Starve Giant Edition
Like Octodad, Don't Starve has made the rounds to numerous different platforms, but for it's trip to Wii U it's getting a few extra features. Not only does the Wii U version release with the game's Giant Edition expansion content, it also features the inventory and map on the Wii U gamepad so you don't have to stop to figure out where you are. The game is also playable remotely on the gamepad, so you don't need to be tethered to the TV while staving off hunger. To top everything off, Klei pulled out all the stops to give players two copies of the game for the price of one. Don't Starve Giant Edition is currently set to release on Wii U in May.
