The Finale Of Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn Is Nigh
A Realm Reborn's 2.55 patch, entitled Before the Fall Part 2, is now out for the MMO. The update features numerous tweaks, a new trial, and the end of the main scenario in advance of summer's Heavensward expansion.
In the story, players will defend Ishgard's Steps of Faith against the Dravanian assault. Players must finish this quest line before they can play Heavensward, which allows them to enter Ishgard as well as Dravania. The Heavensward expansion comes out June 23.

Our Take
Given that the story ties directly into the expansion, it will be interesting to see if it offers any resolution for those who don't pick up the expansion. Is it fair to end the main story on a seeming cliff hanger to make you buy the expansion, as opposed to the expansion's story involving another storyline altogether?
