Early Access Coming For Sony's MOBA-Like Kill Strain

by Jeff Cork on Mar 23, 2015 at 05:17 AM

Sony revealed Kill Strain for the PlayStation 4 at its PlayStation Experience event late last year. The MOBA-like game pits three teams against one another, in an unusual 5v2v5 configuration. If that asymmetrical setup sounds interesting to you, Sony San Diego has announced that prospective players will be able to check it out in an early access beta.

To learn more, visit Kill Strain's official site. You'll have to select the "Play" icon at the top of the screen, where you'll then be prompted to fill out a form with your email address and PSN ID. After that, you'll just have to sit tight. The studio hasn't provided any timeline for these beta events, so don't expect to see an invitation pop up in your inbox in the immediate future. While you wait, be sure to take a look at the gameplay tutorials and other information on the site. They offer a nice overview of the various factions and their abilities.

For more information about Kill Strain, take a look at Reiner's hands-on impressions, based on a 30-minute session at the PlayStation Experience.

Our Take
It's fun to get your hands on an upcoming release before the game comes out. Even though the whole point of a beta is giving the developer a chance to tune and balance the game, it's also a great way to see if a game's worth buying when it's officially for sale. Kill Strain sounds like it has some cool ideas, and I'm looking forward to seeing how they all gel together.
