Mortal Kombat X Delayed On Xbox 360 And PS3

by Mike Futter on Mar 13, 2015 at 08:06 AM

As you may have heard this morning, Mortal Kombat X won’t be arriving on time for last-gen consoles. We were able to finally get a response from Warner Bros. confirming the delay here in North America.

The Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC versions are on track for April 14. If you haven’t yet upgraded your hardware though, you’re in for a bit of a wait.

"Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment confirmed that the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 versions of Mortal Kombat X being developed by High Voltage Software will release this summer," a representative told us via email. "The Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and Windows PC versions will be available April 14."

For more on Mortal Kombat X, you can read up on the newly announced characters from this morning. You can also check out our hands-on preview of the story mode that went live yesterday.

Our Take
Today’s Mortal Kombat news has been very strange. European sites seemed to have been pre-briefed on the delay (which we weren’t sure impacted worldwide release or was simply regional). We also found out about two playable characters simply by way of a DLC skin mention related to the kombat pack. I’m looking forward to Mortal Kombat X, but with the information dam cracked, are there going to be any surprises left at release?
