Former Ensemble Devs Working On RTS/RPG Hybrid With Customizable Robots

by Mike Futter on Mar 04, 2015 at 04:00 AM

Bonus XP, a studio made up of many former members of Ensemble Studios, has announced its first project. The team is working on a hybrid real-time strategy / role-playing game called Servo.

The premise is that humanity has fled Earth after mucking it up somehow. After many years, we’ve returned to fix that problem (which we assume are the little non-robotic critters, the Bloomspawn, in the video below).

Bonus XP says that the game has a strong RTS pedigree and is designed to appeal to hardcore fans of that genre. However, matches play more quickly, there are loot drops that can be used to customize and improve your servos, and you’ll carry those creations from fight to fight.

There are 25 campaign missions, competitive multiplayer, and cooperative play. Bonus XP is planning on bringing the title to Steam Early Access, with a full release on PC slated for some time later this year.
