Gamers Poke Fun At The Order: 1886's Problems With Parody Videos

by Mike Futter on Feb 20, 2015 at 04:53 AM

Gamer passion has its benefits. The engaged consumer base is in it for the long haul, and even tends to fight battles on social media for the benefit of corporations.

Unfortunately, sometimes that passion manifests as rage. The latest target is Ready At Dawn’s The Order: 1886. Gamers have been in a tizzy over its length, varied critical response, and the very fact that it’s a first-party exclusive. Note that these videos feature strong language.

Some have refocused the controversy in more productive directions, making humorous videos that poke fun without coming across as overly malicious. Here’s an oft-parodied scene from Downfall (Der Untergang). The movie depicts Adolf Hitler’s final days at the close of World War II, and has provided amusing fodder for a variety of subjects.

Sometimes, words aren’t necessary at all. Chaz Palminteri delivered a fantastic performance in The Usual Suspects. But did you know that Kaiser Soze was the silent driver behind The Order’s development?

Not all comedians choose traditional video. An anonymous jokester on the Internet opted for a gif aligning the discussion with The Order and the The Office's deadpan humor.

Finally, this interview in Spanish has been given an amusing subtitle treatment. I suspect that the content of the interview is amusing, but does it rival the altered context? You decide.
