Nordic Games: Authenticity Of Darksiders II PS4 Retail Listing Is ‘Unquestionable’

by Mike Futter on Feb 16, 2015 at 04:07 AM

It’s not uncommon these days for games to be revealed via errant retailer listing. Unlike many of those situations though, the listing in question hasn’t been pulled and the publisher is handling it with humor.

A listing for Vigil's Darksiders II Definitive Edition for PlayStation 4 has appeared on Amazon and, as of publication, remains live. We asked publisher Nordic Games (which acquired the property from THQ at auction in 2013) about it and got an amusing, but insightful, response.

“Thanks a lot for touching base with us here at NG,” the company responded. “Whilst the authenticity of said listing is unquestionable, I am afraid I cannot comment on further details other than in the poetic words of Marshawn Lynch:”

The company says that it doesn’t have anything else to share right now, but will keep us updated once it does. In February 2014, Nordic Games revealed collections for Darksiders and Red Faction. The former is available on Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and PC. The latter was not released on Xbox 360.

Our Take
I wasn’t expecting a confirmation when I reached out to Nordic, and appreciate the company addressing this directly. Darksiders II is absolutely a game I’d play again on current-gen systems, as it was one of my favorite to appear on last-gen consoles.
