Report: Scarface Composer Says He's Teaming With Skrillex On New Tron Game

by Kyle Hilliard on Feb 15, 2015 at 12:57 PM

A recent interview with film composer Giorgio Moroder reveals that a new Tron video game is in the works, and Morodor along with Skrillex, are composing the soundtrack.

Speaking with clashmusic.com, Moroder said, "I'm going to meet Skrillex next week when I'm back. I'm doing the music for a game for Disney's Tron. We have about five themes, electronic stuff and let's see if he's interested in remixing or re-working one of the songs.”

Moroder has an impressive career in composing music for films. Alongside composing Scarface, Moroder also has music credits for writing certain songs in Top Gun and Inglourious Basterds, as well video games like Grand Theft Auto III and Grand Theft Auto: Liberty City and Vice City Stories.

The last Tron video game Tron: Evolution (pictured above), which released around the same time as Tron: Legacy, didn't pan out so well. You can read our review here.

Our Take
Details are obviously scarce on exactly what this could be. It's likely related to Tron's presence in Disney Infinity as two Tron characters were recently added to the iOS version of the game. If it is just related to Tron content for Disney Infinity, however, it seems odd to hire a noteworthy composer like
Giorgio Moroder and Skrillex to create music. It certainly has potential to be something bigger.
