Blizzard Raises $1.9 Million For Red Cross With World of Warcraft Pet Sale

by Matt Helgeson on Feb 12, 2015 at 02:19 PM

World of Warcraft players have embraced "Argi," a World of Warcraft pet, to the tune of nearly $2 million - all of which goes to a great cause.

Blizzard donated the proceeds of every Argi pet sold from December 3 and 31 of last year, in addition to $10 for every sale of a bundle that included Argi and a Grinning Reaver in-game mount.

It was a highly successful campaign, and today Blizzard was able to donate $1.9 million to the Red Cross. The funds will go specifically to the Red Cross' efforts to battle the spread of the Ebola virus in Africa.

This isn't the first time Blizzard has shown it commitment to the Red Cross. In the past, it's donated similar amounts to Red Cross efforts to help those affected by Storm Sandy and the Japanese earthquake and tsunami of 2011.
