Awesome Games Done Quick, an annual charity speedrunning event, is over for now, allowing us to catch our breaths and get a feel for its impact. The event has been growing in popularity, nearly doubling its impressions in 2015.

On average, each of those unique viewers tuned in for over an hour-and-a-half. For more on Awesome Games Done Quick, check out our previous coverage.

Our Take
While the internet can be filled with negativity, it gives me hope to remember that the democratization of information and voices allows things like Awesome Games Done Quick to exist. Without tools like Twitch, which is growing as a charity platform, events like this might not have the same impact.
