Sony Adds Five Games To PlayStation Now Service, Including Uncharted 2

by Mike Futter on Feb 02, 2015 at 07:47 AM

If you are a PlayStation Now subscription holder (or simply use the service on a per-rental basis), the library is about to get a bit bigger. Sony has added five new titles that you can start playing tomorrow. February 3.

Each of these games appeared on the PlayStation 3 (though one as an HD remaster). Here’s what you can dip into starting tomorrow:

  • Uncharted 2: Among Thieves
  • God of War II HD
  • Red Faction: Armageddon
  • Galaga Legions DX
  • Arcana Heart 3

Sony announced and launched the PlayStation Now subscription plan in January. One-month and three-month plans are available, with the latter costing consumers approximately $15 per month.

The subscription program is currently only available on PlayStation 4, though the rental service is also available on PlayStation 3, Vita, and select television models. For more on PlayStation Now, check out a recent analysis of the program following the subscription announcement.

Our Take
Sony needs to ramp up the subscription program across the other devices on which PlayStation Now is available. As for the library, once there is more evidence of regular updates, it’ll be easier to feel confident that a subscription is worthwhile. Right now, with only slightly over 100 games, your mileage will definitely vary.
