PlayStation 4 Debut Delayed In China

by Matthew Kato on Jan 08, 2015 at 03:17 AM

Sony has delayed the release of the PlayStation 4 in China at the last minute due to various factors.

The news comes from Reuters based on a statement from the company. A source with the company in China says the delay is due to "prolonged negotiations" with Chinese officials, and that a new release date had not yet been determined.

Interestingly, rival Microsoft also experienced a last-minute delay for its release of the Xbox One in the territory last fall. In that case, the system came out six days later and according to numbers from the media company that owns BesTV, Microsoft's partner in the region, it sold 100,000 units in the first day.
