Watch "The Interview" Today On Xbox Platforms And Other Streaming Services

by Andrew Reiner on Dec 24, 2014 at 05:48 AM

A day after more than 300 indie movie theaters announced they would show The Interview on Christmas Day, Sony has announced the film will be available for streaming rental and HD purchase starting at 10 a.m. PT today.

It can be streamed from Google Play, YouTube, Xbox Video (on Xbox One, Xbox 360, Windows 8, Windows Phone 8, and xboxvideo.com), and on the Sony driven site seetheinterview.com. The rental fee is $5.99. You can purchase it in HD for $14.99.

The Interview was originally destined to be shown on Christmas Day on over 3,000 screens, but theaters pulled the film following threats from hackers, citing security concerns. Sony canceled the film after losing the backing of the theaters. While it doesn't have wide distribution in most major cinemas yet, the film is finding second life in smaller theaters. If you want to see it in theaters rather than stream it, here's a list of all of the venues that are showing it.

Our Take
It's great that the film is getting out there for people to see, but we can't watch it on PlayStation platforms, Sony?
