Resogun On PlayStation 3 And Vita This Month With Cross-Buy

by Mike Futter on Dec 05, 2014 at 03:33 AM

If you own Resogun on PlayStation 4, you’re about to be able to take the game on the go without the need for remote play (or an additional purchase). Housemarque’s PS4 homage to Defender will arrive on PlayStation 3 and Vita this month.

Sony has announced that the shooter, which originally launched alongside the PlayStation 4, will be arriving on December 23 for the additional platforms. Because it will be released under the cross-buy program, anyone that already owns the PlayStation 4 version will be able to play on PS3 and Vita at no additional charge.

Climax, which handled the port, was able to transfer the game to the less powerful systems, but frame rate has been lowered. Instead of the 60 frames per second on PS4, the PS3 and Vita versions will be locked at 30 frames.

In addition to cross-buy, all three versions will offer cross-save. Those playing on Vita can access ad-hoc co-op and even toss human survivors through the rescue points with the rear touchpad.

For those that don’t yet own the title on PlayStation 4, the entry price is set at $14.99. For more, check out our review.

Our Take
If you haven’t yet played Resogun (for whatever reason), make it a priority. I’m looking forward to having this on my Vita, which was already a great way to enjoy Housemarque’s latest.
