New Halo: The Master Chief Collection Update Speeds Up Matchmaking Among Other Fixes

by Kyle Hilliard on Dec 03, 2014 at 01:28 PM

As promised by 343 Industries, a new update is now available for Halo: The Master Chief Collection improving matchmaking and team balancing.

You can find the full breakdown of the update by heading here. The update speeds up matchmaking, prevents false matches form being created, helps maintain your party through matchmaking, and more. The update also helps with team balancing, but 343 Industries does not expect all team balancing issues to be resolved with this update. Another update is already being prepared for next week which will focus on this issue.

Our Take
Many were excited to revisit Halo and Halo 2 online, but I think the matchmaking errors have squandered much of that initial excitement. 343 Industries had an opportunity to possibly push Halo back on the top in terms of online multiplayer, but I think that opportunity might be gone. In any case, I'm glad things are improving, even if it is taking longer than expected.
