Xbox One Console Exclusive Ori And The Blind Forest Delayed Into 2015

by Mike Futter on Nov 21, 2014 at 09:06 AM

As recently as TGS, Microsoft had sommitted Moon Studios’ Ori and the Blind Forest for release this year. Unfortunately, that is not to be.

In an announcement on the game’s website, Moon Studios informs that the title will not arrive until 2015. “While we’re extremely excited for all of you to get your hands on Ori and the Blind Forest as soon as possible, we made the decision together with our partners at Microsoft Studios that we’ll need just a little more time in order to add a final layer of polish to – what we hope – will be an unforgettable gaming experience,” the developer writes.

Our Take
Ori and the Blind Forest is just one of many smaller titles committed for 2014 that likely won't make it in the few remaining weeks. We'll take a look at the roundup of quietly delayed games as we get closer to the end of the year.

This delay wouldn't be quite as impactful if it didn't mean Microsoft was ending its year of exclusives on the abysmal launch of Halo: The Master Chief Collection. If 2014 was "the year of delays," let's hope 2015 is "the year of launching games that work."
