Telltale's Take On Borderlands Heading To A Big Screen

by Jeff Cork on Nov 19, 2014 at 02:45 AM

The first episode of Telltale Games' upcoming interpretation of Gearbox's shooter Borderlands is coming soon, and Alamo Drafthouse is rolling out the red carpet for the game. Next week, the first episode of Tales from the Borderlands will be screened in its Richardson, Texas location, and attendees will be able to help steer the story. If you're not in the vicinity of Richardson, Texas or aren't able to make the drive, don't worry – you'll be able to get in on the fun, too.

The screening of episode one, Zer0 Sum, will take place November 24 at 8 p.m., and is scheduled to last 135 minutes. Telltale will be handing out prizes for the best costumes, which means you have about five days to cobble something amazing together. For those of you who can't attend, you can still check out the game via streaming on Nerdist.com's Twitch channel. In what can only be characterized as an astonishing coincidence, the Nerdist's Chris Hardwick also appears in the game as your best buddy, Vaughn.

Our Take
One of the things that sets Telltale's games apart from other adventure titles is the weight of your choices. If they're left to the loudest voices in a crowd, will it be the same? Probably not, but the addition of an audience of like-minded fans and liquid refreshments should at least partially bridge that gap.
