Here’s The Iconic Halo Theme With A Cowboy Twang

by Mike Futter on Nov 19, 2014 at 02:36 AM

There are a number of tunes in the video gaming world that have risen to the status of “iconic.” The Super Mario Bros. 1-1 music, the opening crystal music for the Final Fantasy series, and Vampire Killer from Castlevania are among the elite.

Marty O’Donnell and Michael Salvatori’s Halo theme is one of the more recent additions to the setlist of gaming greats. It’s hard to imagine a successful cover without the chorus in the background, but The Warp Zone has managed it.

In the channel’s latest “unplugged” video, a cowboy quintet reimagines the theme song. Now, if only the matchmaking for The Master Chief Collection weren’t quite so unplugged.
