Inquisition Prequel, Dragon Age: The Last Court, Coming Soon To Dragon Age Keep

by Mike Futter on Nov 03, 2014 at 06:27 AM

In February, Failbetter Games announced it was working on a secret project with BioWare. The fruits of those labors have been revealed, with the announcement of Dragon Age: The Last Court.

Failbetter is known for a browser title called Fallen London, which plays out like a choose your own adventure game. The Last Court will work similarly, with players taking on the role of the new ruler of an obscure Orlesian fiefdom.

You’ll choose between two characters, the Huntress and the Scholar, and rule your land by making a number of choices. The Last Court is going to be integrated into Dragon Age Keep.

You might recall that the Keep is how you’ll review and import your version of Thedas into Dragon Age: Inquisition. Dragon Age Keep is open beta now. Inquisition will be out on November 18 for Xbox One, Xbox 360, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, and PC. Before you dive into Dragon Age Keep though, be sure to read our primer on some of the more obscure decisions you’ve made in past titles.

Our Take
I’ve enjoyed some of the tie-in experiences with past BioWare games, with Facebook title Dragon Age Legends topping the list. Yes, a good Facebook game. The Last Court could trump it for two reasons. First, it’s free rather than free-to-play. Second, its inclusion with Dragon Age Keep means that it will reach more people. I’m eager to check it out.
