Ubisoft Revs The Crew’s Engine With Upcoming Closed Beta
Ubisoft has announced the dates for The Crew closed beta on Xbox One and PlayStation 4. You’ll be able to take the upcoming social racer for a test drive early next month.
There are two ways to gain access to the beta test, which will run from November 6 through 10. Pre-order customers will get guaranteed admittance. Everyone else can register for a spot on Ubisoft’s website.
There are five regions in the game, with two available during the beta test. You’ll be able to speed across the Midwest and up and down the East Coast. Competitive racing will be included in the beta, but you’ll only have two of the car specs (Street and Dirt) to choose from.
You will need Xbox Live Gold or PlayStation Plus in order to participate in the beta. For more on The Crew, check out our most recent preview.
Our Take
With the beta running just a month before release, this is likely closer to a load testing and server tuning period. Ubisoft is likely watching the Driveclub debacle and taking steps to insure The Crew doesn’t suffer the same fate.
