The Unfinished Swan Gets Release Date For PS4/Vita

by Matthew Kato on Oct 23, 2014 at 04:56 AM

The Unfinished Swan for PlayStation 4 and Vita was officially announced at Gamescom this year, and the release date is closer than you think.

The game is being handled by Armature Studio and will come out on October 28 for both systems for $14.99. It's also a Cross-Buy title, which means that if you've already bought the game you get it on all PlayStation platforms.

The Unfinished Swan drops players in a blank world that they must fill with different paint colors to bring the environments to life. For more on the game, check out our review.

Meanwhile, original The Unfinished Swan developer Giant Sparrow is working on a new, non-sequel project codenamed Edith Finch.

Our Take:
Given the paintbrush gameplay, I wonder if Armature will add any mechanics using the Vita's back touchscreen. Given that it's also on the PS4, it would be easier from a development standpoint to not do it, unfortunately.
