Daily Show Alum Rob Riggle To Play Frank West In Dead Rising: Watchtower

by Mike Futter on Oct 20, 2014 at 10:22 AM

Legendary has announced the cast for its upcoming Dead Rising film. Retired marine, comedy news reporter, and actor Rob Riggle (who has actually covered wars with The Daily Show, you know) will be playing photojournalist Frank West.

Riggle will be joined by Aleks Paunovic (This Means War), who will play Logan, leader of a biker gang. His number two, Pyro, will be played by Harley Morenstein (Epic Meal Time). Finally, Keegan Connor Tracey (Bates Motel, Once Upon a Time) will play a journalist by the name of Jordan.

The film will reportedly be directed by Leprechaun: Origin's Zach Lipovsky. Other actors previously announced for the project include Jesse Metcalfe (John Tucker Must Die, Dallas), Meghan Ory (Once Upon a Time, Vampire High), Virginia Madsen (Sideways, The Number 23), and Dennis Haysbert (24, Wreck It Ralph).

Unsurprisingly, Dead Rising: Watchtower will take place during a zombie outbreak. Conspiracy lies at the heart of the story, and signs point to something related to Zombrex (the fictional zombie infection-fighting drug) playing a role.

Dead Rising: Watchtower is planned as a direct-to-video release on Crackle in the United States. Following the exclusivity period, it will be released digitally and on disc.
