More Of Driveclub’s Features Coming Online In Next 24 Hours

by Mike Futter on Oct 13, 2014 at 10:59 AM

Evolution Studios and Sony have provided an update on Driveclub’s troubled launch. As we reported last week, portions of the game’s feature set were removed and in order to facilitate server performance. Another update is planned for some time in the next day.

“Continual upgrades to the DRIVECLUB servers are building a steady increase in performance, meaning that we're getting more and more players connected,” Evolution writes on the Driveclub Facebook page. “The next server update is coming within 24 hours and will mean we can start to switch on more of the online features, so that you will be able to play more of DRIVECLUB online.”

No specific details are available about timing, which features will be re-enabled, or the way forward from here. “We are sorry that we don't have more concrete news to share right now, but please be patient,” the post continues. We will have more information for you tomorrow.”

Our Take
The last paragraph of the update doesn’t inspire much confidence. Driveclub fans should settle in for a bit, as it doesn’t sound like the next update will completely remedy the problems. We’ve still got an email out to Sony for more details on this morning’s report of possible compensation for those that purchased the game.
