Pokémon Trading Card Game Comes To United States iPads On September 30

by Mike Futter on Sep 29, 2014 at 02:21 PM

The long wait is over, Pokémon Trainers. The digital version of the popular trading card game arrives on iPads tomorrow, September 30.

The title was soft-launched in Canada last week, and it’s now spreading to territories across the globe. The digital version of the game connects to your existing profile, so if you’ve been playing on PC, all of your cards and decks will be waiting for you on your iPad.

Cards can be earned or purchased online, and if you play the physical Pokémon game, you can unlock cards online from packed-in codes. You can read more about the Pokémon Trading Card Game app in our preview

Our Take
The PC implementation for the Pokémon TCG isn’t the smoothest, but with Hearthstone’s example to learn from, I have high hopes for the iPad version. The connection between the physical game and the digital one has me wondering if I should be building a collection of cards to play at home as well as on my iPad. What say you, trainers?
