Strategy MMO Wakfu Has A Companion Animated Series Coming To Netflix

by Mike Futter on Sep 11, 2014 at 11:55 AM

Last week, we reported that Ankama Games’ Wakfu is headed to Steam on September 18. Today, the company has announced that you can immerse yourself away from your PC thanks to Netflix.

Wakfu is also an animated series that has been airing in France for a number of years. In partnership with the Netflix, the cartoon will become available in countries around the world.

The two-season series was created in Ankama’s French animation studio, and its release on September 14 on Netflix marks the first time it will be available broadly. It has won awards in France and Italy, including International Studio of the Year in 2010 at Italy’s Cartoons on the Bay awards and French magazine Animeland’s best non-Japanese animated series of 2011.

For more on Ankama, check out our write-up of a board-game in the Dofus/Wakfu universe, Krosmaster Arena. You can check out Wakfu on Steam beginning on September 18.

Update: Thanks to reader "Rainman" for pointing out that this version is dubbed in English and was funded by a Kickstarter campaign to make the localization possible.
