Destiny Hunter Knife Looks Like The Perfect Prop For Throwing

by Mike Futter on Sep 08, 2014 at 11:35 AM

Melee attacks in first-person shooters tend to be pretty mundane (no, we’re not talking about you, Gears of War). Whether you’re hitting people with the butt of a gun or thrusting your leg in an awkward kick, they don’t always feel quite satisfying. And then there’s Destiny…

During the beta, I spent most of my time as a Hunter. The knife melee was satisfying, but it was when I unlocked the ability to throw it (and thereby give my up close attack and a bit of personality from a distance) that I fell in love.

We’ve already started to see Destiny cosplay pop up, and this Etsy store prop from Gary Sterley Studios looks like it would make a cool addition for hunters. The listing says that the knife is resin with a cold cast aluminum finished. The grip is wrapped in cloth and the entire thing is 14 and a half inches in length.

Don’t take it on airplane. You can check the Hunter’s knife out on Sterley’s Etsy shop. He’s selling it for $69.99. You can also check out a pair of prop Thorn pistols we previously covered.

Destiny is out tomorrow for Xbox One, Xbox 360, PlayStation 4, and PlayStation 3. To see it in action now, check out our Test Chamber.
