Reader Discussion: Have You Finished The Silent Hills Playable Teaser, P.T.?
P.T., or the Silent Hills teaser as it is likely more commonly referred, was beaten a few hours following its release, but no one has been able to figure out exactly how.
Following its surprise reveal, many other players have been able to finish P.T. and see the Silent Hills trailer that plays at the end. Despite making my way through the whole playable teaser and finding the missing photo pieces, I have not been able to complete the demo – and I don't think I am alone.
Possible puzzle spoilers ahead
Consulting walkthroughs online, I know I have to get the phone to ring, but how that is done consistently is up for debate. There is a child's giggle that must be activated, followed by another giggle, and then the phone rings. Some say there is a third giggle before the phone rings, but that is also up for debate. I have been able to activate the first giggle by waiting for the time to change and taking exactly 10 steps towards the phone from the radio. After that I am stuck. I've read that you have to go into the bathroom and look in the sink. I've read that you have to find the ghost and look at her (which appears to be random). I've read that you have to plug in a headset and say, "Hello, Lisa" when you hear ghostly noises, and I heard one person say they had the game paused for nearly an hour when they finally heard the phone ring.
It begs the question: have you been able to finish P.T.? And if so, have you been able to complete the final puzzle consistently? Let us know in the comments below.
