by Matt Helgeson on Aug 14, 2014 at 02:45 PM

An Ubisoft producer has confirmed that you'll be able to "fast track" unlockable items and gear with real money in Assassin's Creed: Unity.

Speaking with OXM, producer Vincent Pontbriand confirmed that a system on display at Gamescom that allows players to buy early access to in-game items and gear will be in the final version of AC: Unity.

He did say that it will be done in a way that won't compromise gameplay.

Our Take:
While it doesn't personally bother me -- I'm not a completist -- I know that that microtransactions of this type do bother some fans. It will be interesting to see how far Ubisoft goes with these plans.
