Reader Discussion: What Are Your Thoughts On PlayStation Now Pricing?

by Mike Futter on Aug 01, 2014 at 01:57 PM

PlayStation Now has moved into open beta and the prices we wrote about during its previous beta phase haven’t changed dramatically. While the publisher has suggests a subscription might be in the works, right now the only options are different length rental periods (four hours, seven days, thirty days, or ninety days).

The pricing ranges from $3 to $5 for four-hour blocks, $4 to $8 for seven-day rentals, $6 to $15 for thirty days, and $15 to $30 for a full ninety-day rental. There are no purchase or unlimited-use options yet.

We’re curious if you’ve looked at the PlayStation Now storefront since it went into open beta. What is your reaction to the pricing? Have you rented any titles? If so, how many and for how long?

If Sony opts for a subscription, what would you be willing to pay for a month or year of access to the entire library? Let us know what you think in the comments.
