Vote On The Alternate The Evil Within Cover, Enter To Win A Free Signed Copy

by Harry Mackin on Jul 30, 2014 at 07:45 AM

Bethesda announced on their blog today that what The Evil Within’s alternate box cover looks like is up to the fans. The publisher has released three different cover designs, and the one voted most popular via an online poll will be the reverse sleeve of the launch edition of the game.

You can see the three options, “Asylum,” “Piercing Eye,” and “Twisted,” below (click the images to expand). Voters will also have the chance to enter a contest to win one of ten copies of The Evil Within signed by game director Shinji Mikami, which they will receive when the game ships. The contest starts tomorrow and will last until Friday, August 8.

Asylum

Piercing Eye

Twisted

The Evil Within is an upcoming survival horror game developed by Tango Gameworks. Shinji Mikami, founder of Tango Gameworks and director of The Evil Within, is best known for creating the Resident Evil series. This title is Tango Gameworks inaugural project and is considered Mikami's long-awaited return to the survival horror genre. His most recent title in that genre is Resident Evil 4, in 2005.

To vote on the cover and learn how to enter the giveaway contest, go to Bethesda's Blog. The Evil Within releases on October 14 for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, Xbox One, Xbox 360, and PC. For more on the horrific title, check out our E3 hands-on impressions, or these E3 2014 screens.

Our Take
Letting fans vote on things fans want is always fun, and the three designs are all really cool (my favorite is Asylum). Having the opportunity to win a copy of the game signed by the man who essentially invented the survival horror genre is even more exciting. Between moving up the release date a week and this contest, Bethesda seems invested in getting fans to pay attention to this game. Doing so through fan-input is a good step.
