Update: Xbox Live Friends, Sign-In Issues Resolved
Update: The Xbox Live support page is reporting that the issues from yesterday have been resolved. You are now free to move about the galaxy.

It looks like Xbox Live is currently having some issues. The official support page reports that sign-in, friends list, and monitoring friend activities are affected.
This reportedly started just after 2 p.m. Pacific, which aligns it with the Destiny beta stress test. There is no clear evidence that the two are related though, and this may be a coincidence.
Xbox One, Xbox 360, and other devices (like PC and Smartglass) are affected. We’ve reached out to Microsoft to inquire and will update should we receive a response.

Our Take
The timing with the Destiny beta could simply be an unfortunate coincidence. If so, it wouldn’t surprise us if Bungie quickly scheduled another test period once Microsoft gets this cleared up.
