The lights are on
If you weren't lucky enough to get a code for Bungie's Destiny beta, cry no more. The studio has now opened up the beta to all gamers.
The move was announced with this post on the Bungie site: "Today, at 4:00 PM PDT, we’re opening the Destiny Beta to anyone who wants to create a character and walk in their boots. There are, of course, some requirements. You’ll need to have a compatible console equipped with PlayStation Plus or Xbox Live Gold."

Our Take:It will be interesting to see how the game performs under the flood of new users. Now, why are you still reading this? Go play Destiny!
That is awesome of Bungie to do this.
Thank you Bungie!
Downloading now.
That's super cool of them! I was lucky enough to be gifted a code from a friend, but I thought to truly stress a beta test they should have done this from the start. Not that I would blame them for keeping it closed to people that preordered, but this is such a smart and generous move, and a great way to build some hype.
Have fun guys! The beta's awesome. Weve been keeping it warm for you.
, it must have held up well under the stress of just pre order participants, lets see how robust it is now.
Knew something like this would happen.
I apparently got a beta code on the 29th but I didn't notice till today...
Why do I keep trying to cloak and run on walls in the crucible?
Now let's see what all the hype is about.
If you're playing on PS4, PS Plus isn't technically required (you can play all the story/exploration missions and wander around the Tower). But you *will* need PS Plus if you want to play the cooperative Strike missions or enter the PvP Crucible arenas.
