Harmonix Survey Asks If Players Would Like A Current-Gen Rock Band

by Kyle Hilliard on Jul 19, 2014 at 09:58 AM

Harmonix has issued a survey in order to gauge interest for the future of the Rock Band franchise.

You can check out and respond to the five-question survey here, which asks with what frequency players still play Rock Band, whether they would like to see a new Rock Band on Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and Wii U, and whether they still have their Rock Band instruments.

Harmonix is currently working on Fantasia: Music Evolved, Chroma, Amplitude, and Dance Central Spotlight, so if a new Rock Band were to arrive, Harmonix would have to get a few other projects out of the way first.

Our Take
I really enjoy music and rhythm games, and played Guitar Hero and Rock Band excessively at the height of their popularity, but I don't know if I would be excited for a new entry in the series. I just think my excitement for mimicking popular music with fake instruments has expired. Amplitude, on the other hand, which offers a more abstract execution of the rhythm and music game, is something I am much more excited about.
