First Hearthstone Adventure Is Priced And Coming Soon

by Dimitri Gedevanishvili on Jul 08, 2014 at 11:14 AM

Blizzard has released pricing information for the upcoming Adventure for Hearthstone. Curse of Naxxramas brings single-player campaign-style gameplay complete with boss battles and new unlockable cards.

The first three wings of the campaign have three bosses while the fourth and fifth have four and two respectively, resulting in fifteen total bosses. Those who complete the campaigns will unlock new cards. There will be one class-specific card per class and 21 cards that all classes can use, adding up to 30 new cards.

The first wing, Arachnid Quarter, will be available for free. The subsequent wings will need to be purchased. The entire expansion can be purchased for $24.99 but can also be purchased for $6.99 or 700 of in-game gold. If you unlock the first one while it is free, you will need only pay $19.99 to unlock the other four. There will be a one week grace period between each wing unlock.

Defeating bosses will add new cards to your collection. After a player defeats all bosses in their respective wing, Heroic mode will unlock in which players may defeat the bosses again at a higher difficulty. When both sets of bosses are slain, a new card back will be unlocked.

Hearthstone's Curse of Naxxramas Adventure is targeting a July release. Be sure to read about what we thought of the game in our review.

Our Take
As a fan of Hearthstone and card games in general, it's great to see new cards being released. I think adding a single-player element is interesting and is something I definitely can see myself checking out. The price points feel a little steep to me for what is being offered, but I have no doubts that this expansion will be successful.
