The lights are on
A listing on the official Gamescom 2014 website suggests that Valve may be bringing its new Steam controller to the public trade show in Germany.
The page says that Valve will be showing off "controllers" under the peripherals category. We last got our hands on Valve's haptic feedback-enhanced controller at CES 2014, but the peripheral has been in continued development since first being revealed last year, so an appearance at Gamescom would be a valuable check-in with the new device. The show runs from August 13-17, and Valve's controller releases next year.
Our TakeThe Steam Machine and Valve's new controller mark the company's first forays into hardware. Valve has excelled in game development and digital distribution, but keeping folks up to date on the development of the experimental peripheral would be a good move for the company.
