Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel Could Come To New-Gen Systems

by Matthew Kato on Jul 07, 2014 at 06:20 AM

Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel comes out for Xbox 360, PC, and PlayStation 3 on October 17, and from there developer 2K Australia says anything can happen.

GamereactorTV interviewed some of the guys at 2K Australia, and studio head Tony Lawrence didn't rule out a new-gen version of the game. "If fans say, 'Hey, we'd really like this on a next-gen console,' well, we'll think about that, but right now we're concentrating on the consoles we know."

Franchise director Matt Armstrong added that requiring people to buy new hardware in the middle of a series "feels a little disingenuous," but added that they'd have to see how people react to the game first.

Our Take
I don't doubt Armstrong's principle on the matter, but given that there undoubtedly will be a new-gen Borderlands at some point, it makes sense to one day package the last-gen ones in a collection.
