by Kyle Hilliard on Jun 29, 2014 at 08:58 AM

A new speed run record has been set for Super Mario Bros., placing the new best time at just under five minutes.

The new record run, which you can see in its entirety in the video below. The record was set by speed runner that goes by the name Blubbler. Blubbler's new record sets the time at 4:57.69, besting the previous record of 4:58:09. This record is set for beating the game with any percentage of completion with the option to use warps. Blubbler achieved the new time with a glitch letting them skip the walk to the castle at the end of level 8-2.

Recently, someone calculated the distance Mario runs in the original Super Mario Bros., which you can read about here.
