Mario's Mercedes Coming To North America In Mario Kart 8
As we've previously covered, Nintendo is partnering with Mercedes Benz to bring one of the luxury car companies' SUVs to Mario Kart 8 in the form of a GLA-Class Kart. While the cross-promotional content was only originally slated for release in Japan, Nintendo recently announced that the kart will be made available in North America, as well.
Expect to see the Mercedes available sometime later this summer. This isn't the first real-world car related promotion for Mario Kart 8. The racing game also had a very real presence at Nascar's Nationwide Series History 300.
Our Take
This is certainly some strange and rather silly new content, but at least it's creative marketing on Mercedes' part. We're also pretty big fans of Mario Kart 8 here at Game Informer, so having more karts is certainly not a bad thing.
