Destiny Alpha Will Continue A Bit Longer For ‘Dangerous Experiments’
Don’t shed a tear for the Destiny alpha just yet. Bungie has given hope that players will be able to continue their quests after the official close.
Commenting on Twitter this morning, the company suggested it will be using the time to conduct additional testing.
There's a rumor that the #Destiny Alpha might be extended to allow dangerous experiments. Play beyond the official close at your own risk!

If you’ve not yet gotten your fill, you can try and jump in today. For more on Destiny, be sure to check out our Test Chamber from the alpha. Destiny will be out on Xbox One, Xbox 360, PlayStation 4, and PlayStation 3 on September 9.
Update: Bungie has provided a bit more information on the status of the alpha (and the purpose for the "dangerous experiments").
Yup. Alpha still works. Now, we're gonna test it in expert mode. If you're still playing, pardon our dust. This is for the Beta!

Our Take
The alpha test has been pretty smooth in terms of online connectivity. This slice is definitely a little rough in places, but largely due to the juxtaposition with the overall excellent experience the first look alpha offers. I wasn’t sure what to expect, but now I’m wholeheartedly anticipating September 9.
