As someone who owns and uses a wearable regularly, the Razer Nabu smartband has been on my radar since its CES announcement. If you're one of 500 lucky fans (or one of the 30,000 vetted developers interested in working on some neat applications for it), you might be wrapping one around your wrist very soon.

Razer will be making the Nabu available via a beta application. If you evidence your Razer credentials (the application asks for how many of the company's products you use and a short narrative on why you should be chosen), you'll be able to buy one for $1. Devices will ship on July 10, and will only feature one of the two OLED screens.

For more on Nabu and Razer, check out a recent interview with CEO Min-Liang Tan.

Update: The original story indicated that the final version of the Nabu will have two screens. Razer reached out to let us know that the final version will have a single screen. Game Informer apologizes for the error.
