Reader Discussion: What Was Your Favorite Year In Gaming?
Video games come out every year, but some years seem juicer that others. Does one year stand out from the pack for you in terms of video game releases?
This might sounds like a strange question, but I've always thought that the year 1998 was a really great year for video games. That year saw the release of Resident Evil 2, Panzer Dragoon Saga, StarCraft, Gran Turismo, Metal Gear Solid, Pokémon Red and Blue, Turok 2: Seeds of Evil, Half-Life, and The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time. It's not a bad list, but then again maybe I'm just being nostalgic.
The year 2008 also seems like a really solid year, which saw the release of games like Devil May Cry 4, Grand Theft Auto IV, Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots, Rock Band 2, BioShock, Fable II, Fallout 3, Gears of War 2, and Left 4 Dead.
