Hitman: Sniper Announced For Mobile Devices
Square Enix has announced a second mobile Hitman title, following Hitman Go. Hitman: Sniper will be launching later this year on mobile platforms as a free-to-play title.
Square Enix Montréal says that the experience is similar to the Hitman: Sniper Challenge that launched ahead of Hitman: Absolution. It will be tailored to mobile devices, and give players the opportunity to accelerate their access to contracts and weapon upgrades via in-app purchases.
The title will be a competitive experience, but one designed with replay value in mind. More details will be available on Wednesday, June 12, as part of the Square Enix Presents YouTube presentation.

Our Take
Hitman Go was a success because it drastically changed up gameplay expectations with a new aesthetic while staying true to the franchise’s roots. In order for Sniper to capture and hold a player base, the controls will need to be well designed for touch devices. I’m skeptical, but interested in seeing the title.
