Assassin’s Creed Revelations Creative Director Returns For Unity

by Mike Futter on Jun 04, 2014 at 12:44 PM

Ubisoft hasn’t widely publicized who is leading the development of Assassin’s Creed Unity. According to a tweet (since deleted) from Ubisoft Toronto’s Jade Raymond, we were able to get a little more information.

Assassin’s Creed Revelations creative director Alexandre Amancio is serving in that same role for Unity. Amancio’s LinkedIn profile confirms his position. Amancio departed Ubisoft in January 2012, following the release of Revelations. He returned six months later.

We expect to see more of Assassin’s Creed Unity at E3 next week (along with a lot of other titles). For more on the title, which is slated for Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC, check out the announcement trailer. You can also check out a video interview with Amancio below, in which he speaks about his approach to storytelling.

Our Take
Assassin’s Creed Revelations introduced some one-off mechanics, including an oddly positioned tower defense minigame. Unity has a lot going for it, but let’s just hope we won’t be defending the Bastille or the brand new Louvre from attackers in quite the same way as we did in Amancio’s last directed title.
