The lights are on
Two very different games released last week: an M-rated open world action game, and a Nintendo kart racer. Which is stealing more of your time?
Both games involve driving, but that is where comparisons between Watch Dogs and Mario Kart 8 end (unless you count both featuring cold killers). Which one were you more excited about? Which one do you continue to be excited about? Are you splitting your time between the two? Or only one? Or neither? Let us know in the comments below.

Mario Kart!
Mario Kart 8 for me. I can't put the game down. It's my favourite game of the year so far by a long distance.
I don't have a WiiU so Watchdogs for me. But I don't know if my expectations were high for Watchdogs but I find myself a little underwhelmed by it. Don't get me wrong, I think the game is great. But not as good as I thought it would be. The inevitable second game will be better.
Mario Kart 8.
Away on business but when I return , Watchdogs it is lol. Im really anxious to see if Ubi did my city justice in their recreation.
Currently rainbow road, but it would have been both had watchdogs not been delayed.
Mario Kart is the fun king but i have been able to balance out the gameplay with Watch Dogs. Watch Dogs is a pretty awesome game that just keeps getting better as you play it. Mario Kart you can just play for days but is most fun with friends. Which is how i can justify not playing the hell out of it without people to play it with.
I've spent substantial time on both, but have purchased neither.
I've played through about 8 hours of Watch Dogs on my roommate's PC, but was assailed by a control glitch that rendered the game unplayable at the time. The game itself is awesome, entertaining, and unique, but I'm forced to wait until some patching is done before I delve further (Which I will do eventually, guaranteed). I did enjoy how much the game has to offer substantially more than other recent Open-World games, and it was nice to have one that allowed for stealth playstyles. I'm excited to continue where I left off.
Mario Kart 8, on the other hand, was played at the party of a close friend less than a day after release. We played every track and unlocked every character, and I'm significantly impressed by the mechanical and visual quality, as well as the creativity in both the new and recreated stages (I used to hate Rainbow Road 64. Now it's my favorite stage, hands-down). I was still disappointed, however, with the ease it took to obtain the majority of unlockables the game has to offer, as well as the lack of original battle stages (I don't consider the remade racing areas to constitute originality, but that's more of a personal opinion.
2 cents spent. Farewell.
I've been loving MK8. I was interested in Watchdogs for the WiiU but who knows what's up with that version. I will say this about MK8, the graphics on that game are better than some of my PS4 games. The lighting is better than anything the PS3\360 could ever handle. If Nintendo gets that kind of detail into the next Metroid and Zelda games than we're in for a real treat!
MarioKart of course! When it comes to fun games that are actually an escape from reality east beats west everytime!
Watch dogs i have waited for that game for so long.
I would go with Mario Kart 8 on this one. Best game to play on the Wii U and it's fun for everyone.
I had to put in about 5 hours into Watch Dogs before it started to get super enjoyable (it was still ok at first but not great). Now that I have passed that mark I am eager to jump back into the world and stop the various criminal elements.
Unfortunately, neither. I plan to get Mario Kart 8 soon and am probably more excited for that, and I'm still waiting for GameFly to send me Watchdogs.
Why not both? And by "racing through Chicago" you mean banging into every parked car because of wonky car handling? Other than that, Watch Dogs has been fun.
Been playing Mario Kart 8 on and off since i got it, it does grind my definition of fun very finely after being in first place, getting hit by two red shells and a blue shell in a span on 10 seconds and coming 5th. Very lucky my TV doesn't have a Wii U gamepad embedded in it.
ripping it up on MK8, was rocking Shy Guy on the Chopper (cause it is a bad ass combo) but needed to up the weight class and add in some speed so I'm now using Daisy on the sports bike and it seems to be the perfect sweet spot (for me anyway)
Watch Dogs... maybe after I finish GTA5
Watch Dogs for now, I wish I was playing Mario kart too. I'm probably going to get oh eventually though.
I'm racing through Mario Stadium, Water Park, Sweet Sweet Canyon, Thwomp Ruins, Mario Circuit, Toad Harbor, Twisted Mansion, Shy Guy Falls, Sunshine Airport, Dolphin Shoals, Electrodome, Mount Wario, Cloudtop Cruise, Bone Dry Dunes, Bowser's Castle, and Rainbow Road. I'm racing for the cup and I am getting GOLD!
