Changes Coming To PlayStation Plus Instant Game Collection In June

by Mike Futter on May 29, 2014 at 05:02 AM

The six PlayStation Plus titles for June have been announced, along with some changes coming to the program. Starting in June, each month will feature two titles each for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, and Vita.

In addition, starting in July, all six games will be available from the first Tuesday of the month until the first Tuesday of the following month. Additionally, some long-time titles will be phased out soon, so it’s a good idea to lock in your licenses.

The coming month will feature Trine 2: Complete Story and Pixeljunk Shooter Ultimate for PS4. PS3 owners will get NBA 2K14 and Sly Cooper: Thieves in Time. Finally, Sony will offer up Terraria and Mutant Mudds Deluxe for Vita.

Be sure your downloads are up to date, as next Tuesday, June 3, will likely see the beginning of the exodus for long-standing titles. Now’s a good time to make sure you haven’t missed any of the past offerings that are still available. For May's titles, be sure to read the complete rundown.

Update: This story originally indicated that the "all at once" practice would begin in June. The story has been corrected to reflect that the new delivery method will start in July.

Our Take
I’ll miss the weekly updates we share on Monday, as finding out which title is coming aboard is always fun. I wonder if this will see less playtime for each of the included games since they aren’t spaced out. If so, it could also mean lower DLC revenue for participating publishers and developers.
