[Update] The Mortal Kombat X Posters Are Real, Ed Boon Updates Twitter Profile Pic

by Mike Futter on May 28, 2014 at 02:11 PM

Update: Mortal Kombat creator Ed Boon has updated his twitter avatar to match the recently leaked Mortal Kombat logo.

The new logo differs only slightly, with a small adjustment to the dragon's eye. Boon's header image also matches the poster with the words "who's next?" written in the same font as the poster above.

Thanks to Alex Stone for the news tip!

Original story:

Earlier today, images of a poster with a broken spine, the Mortal Kombat logo, and the words “Who’s Next?” appeared online. We questioned their authenticity, but were able to secure independent images of the materials.

The first images surfaced via a Reddit user named “itshappening24.” One of our readers was able to provide us with independent confirmation.

Ed Boon has been teasing a reveal for June 2, which has largely (but not exclusively) hinted at a new Mortal Kombat title. We’ll know more next week, but it looks pretty certain that we’ll be executing fatalities at some point in the near future.

Our Take
As a big fan of NetherRealm and the most recent Mortal Kombat, I’m excited to see what Ed Boon and his team have been working on.
